Marmoset toobag claims to be a realtime renderer, it can use the GPU. The videos on Vimeo are quite impressive. It is indeed realtime. You directly see the assigned material on your model. It is a physically based renderer and even can use Quixel scanned material data. The renderings can be prepared for the Mamoset Viewer application which enables you to interactively look at your geometry from different angles.
Vertex color baking is implemented, material animation is possible and they finally added OpenExr output. They now support MaxOS. The program is now accessable via Python scripting. A standalone viewer application is avialable. The baker now can bake much more maps like cavity maps or wireframe maps. glTF can be exported, STL imported.
Following the Vimeo announcement the new release introduces animation features, global illumination, texture baking, a new skin shader, and Unity as well as Unreal export.
Toolbag now recognized model changes from external references and updates the models immediately. Environment fog has been added to the toolset.
